War and Peace (Book II-IV), by Leo Tolstoy

Finished the entire book except the last 30-page essay. I like the Books I and II better, probably because I was losing patience when reading the second half. Tolstoy did a great job in describing the court salons, battles, the unforgettable outing event on Christmas eve and hunting game. He is a master of words.
Should reread the book in the future.

Translated by Pevear and Volokhonsky. Published by Alfred A. Knope, New York, 2007. Hardcover. ISBN 9780307266934.
