Not an easy reading. Reading for 50 min can just seriously tire my brain.

Here is a summary of 2nd chapter "On the Nature of the Psyche".

 

3 levels of psyche

archetype, whose nature is spirit.  also psychoid

conscious: the interaction/conflict of will with instinct

unconscious:
  two categories:
  1. was conscious or would become conscious later, but now unconscious because forgotten or repressed

  2. something that has never been comprehensible by conscious, therefore would never become conscious. i.e. archtetypes themselves

  include:

  -- personal unconscious

  -- collected unconcious (from instinct and archetype respectively)

  -- have characteristics of instinct (e.g. autonomy, compulsion), and conscious (e.g. choice), and spirit

-> physiology of the organism

-> merged with chemical and physical conditions

-> matters

"Psychologically, however, the archetype as an image of instinct is a spiritual goal toward which the whole nature of man strives"

P105 bottom:

"The archetypal representations (images and ideas) mediated to us by the unconscious should not be confused with the archetype as such. They are very varied structures which all point back to one essentially "representable" basic form. The latter is characterized by certain formal elements and by certain fundamental meanings, although these can be grasped only approximately".

唐宋词选释，俞平伯

婉约  好于  豪放
早期  好于  晚期
自然流露的　（比如李煜）　好于 堆砌典故的（比如辛弃疾）
 一气呵成的 好于 雕琢的（后期多如此）

注释中，为了解释一个字词，俞平伯会引用有关的诗词，这是我最喜欢的。但是在解释典故时，引用的古文经常看不懂，俞平伯也不解释，郁闷。

这是我看的第一个词的选本。 俞平伯认为苏轼、辛弃疾是词之正宗，而我喜欢花间集一脉的。当然李煜是我的最爱。

陕西师范大学出版社。2010年8月。ISBN: 9787561331712。《犹忆前尘立少时:俞平伯点评唐宋词》 （ISBN: 9787561351604）是同样的内容，但是每一条注释单独成行。

二马，老舍

描绘景物的文字是那么活泼和有生命力。
描写的人物和事件是那么让人窒息。
生活中，想老马那样的人是有的，而且很多。
