I wandered inside the library, in front of me the thriller and mystery book section. I seldom visited this section, probably only once.
Two rows of black-covered books, obviously from the same series, caught my eyes. "Another popular author who dumped books after books," I thought. Open one book, the name of Agatha Christie hurt my eyes.
I watched the movie "Murder On the Orient Express" before, but forgot its story. So it is a good time to refresh my memory from the original book.
I like the first part. Agatha's words are concise and sharp, and each character is very vivid. It is like those people are around me. However, the second part in which each person gives his or her evidence becomes boring. (The movie "Rashomon" did a much better job.) But I admit that such organization fits the story very well. When the story goes to the middle of second part, I already recalled the ending. The final part is still very interesting when the detector analyzes all the evidence and figures out the truth.
A very entertaining book, but not a super-crafted book.
In reality, it is dangerous to judge whether a person is guilty and even further to penalize him or her. Probably only God knows the truth, knows the tears and blood behind the scene.
